I am a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about providing patient/ client centred services.  I had the privilege of working for the Department of Health as a Clinical Psychologist in the position of Deputy Director: Employee Assistance Programme. I was instrumental in setting up and implementing the Employee Assistance/ Wellness Programme. After 18 years of working for the Department of Health, I started private practice and currently practicing at Glenwood Medical Centre in Bulwer, Durban and at Value Health Medical and Dental Centre at Christian Village in Hillcrest. I'm also avaible through Zoom as an online alternate service if needed. 

In private practice I see older children, teens, adults, couples and families. I also provide corporate counselling and workshops on request, including but not limited to, stress management, grief counselling, how to manage the troubled employee, dealing with the new normal caused by the novel Coronavirus, time management, advising on medical board issues, etc.

Alongside my clinical endeavours, as part of my social responsibility I did a talk show on "Bullying and Suicide" hosted by Lotus FM as well as a discussed Suicide in South Africa hosted by Colours TV and Alphamed. I was also privileged to be interviewed by Pulse by HealthjobHub on the psychological impact of Covid-19. Apart from these social media platforms I have also hosted and participated in men and women's day events as well as participated in continuing professional development workshops.

I am also a Director of Innovative Productivity Solutions (for Health and Wellness) and registered with the Central Database as a service provider. With regards to my professional registrations and affiliations, I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), and with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) of Southern Africa. Currently I am completing my Doctorate in Psychology (PhD) with the University of KwaZulu Natal. My study involves the psychological and work related consequences of over-indebtedness.

The challenges of today can be quite frustrating, stressful and daunting especially in recent times such as coping with the new normal (Covid-19), natural disasters and juggling family and work life. A platform to vent is what one needs. Come join me on Zoom on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5pm - 6:30pm to catarth and learn stress management techniques to cope. Bookings essential and a maximum number of 10 per session.
